Tryouts for Girls Soccer are being held every day this week from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m. on the football field. Norah Mason, sophomore, really enjoyed being on the team as a freshman and plans to tryout again this year.
“I got to play with all my friends and it was really fun,” Mason said.
She has been playing for a long time now and has worked hard to improve her skills.
“I’ve been playing since I was four, so eleven years,” Mason said.
Many players have been doing extra training to prepare and get in shape for tryouts this week.
“I played club all year round, I went to conditioning and I did some futsal,” Mason said.
Even with all the extra practice, tryouts are not an easy process.
“We scrimmage and do a lot of drills and they watch us. We should know what team we’re on by Friday,” Mason said.
There are three teams that players are placed on depending on their skill level and each team has a different coach.
“Coach Kelley is Varsity, Coach Johnson is JV and the C-team coach is Coach Saunders,” Mason said.
There is a lot of pressure to make it on the team so the players will need to bring their A-game to the field this week.
