Success for LSN Cheerleaders
Story by Kay Haas – Staff Reporter
A staple at any LSN sports event is the cheerleaders. They put so much time and effort into creating flawless performances for their competition routines and their performances at sporting events. They practice consistently to be the best they can be at games and competitions. This past weekend, LSN cheerleaders took first place at the State Cheerleading Competition.
The cheerleaders started practicing in April to prepare for the multitudes of events they would perform at, including the state competition. Their preparations and hard work were led by their coach, Ashley Forte, Behavior Interventionist.
“This season has had a lot of ups and downs I would say, but that is one thing I love about this sport and sports in general, is that everything is unexpected and nothing is ever the same which makes it nice. But this season has been very difficult, but winning has been the icing on the cake,” Forte said.
Although winning is an amazing achievement, it is not the most important thing to Coach Forte.
“The most exciting part was just knowing that they hit the routine and that their hard work was not in vain at all but just seeing them being proud of themselves after the routine,” Forte said.
It is safe to say that this season for the LSN cheerleaders was a major success.
