Prom Dress Extravaganza

Story by Kay Haas – News Editor
Prom is just around the corner and Prom preparations are starting to take place. Dinner reservations are being made, hair appointments have been scheduled, but most importantly, people are finding their looks for the night.
Woods Chapel Church hosted their annual Prom Boutique on March 13 – 15. The Prom Boutique is a yearly event hosted by Woods Chapel Church. The church offered over 1,000 dresses, a selection of accessories, and tuxes that local high school students could take. They had a variety of styles and sizes to choose from. There was no charge for any of the items available. They also offered on-site tailoring.
The Prom Boutique is based solely on donations, and they need more items to keep the boutique running. So, after Prom, if you are not planning on wearing your outfit again, think about donating to the Boutique. They are accepting prom dresses, prom-appropriate shoes, purses, jewelry, shapewear, men’s tuxedos and suits, dress shirts, ties, and shoes. Donations can be dropped off at 725 NE Lakewood Way in Lee’s Summit, MO from 9 AM to 4 PM.
If you still need a dress, LSN’s Student Council is going to be hosting a mini prom boutique from March 31 to April 4. All dresses and accessories are free and can be accessed before or after school in room 2103. There will be a selection of dresses in a variety of sizes. LSN’s STUCO is also accepting dress and accessories donations.
Stop by room 2103 to check out the dresses and think about donating dresses after Prom!
