The Lees Summit North Girls Tennis team is in full swing with busy weeks ahead. The annual Colbern Cup Match was on August 30th on the LSN tennis courts. The Broncos fought hard in this tournament, but came up short to Grain Valley 12-14. The girls had a lot of support from fellow broncos. The volleyball, softball, boys soccer, and football teams were all there on the court cheering the team on.

Playing with a big crowd can be intimidating but the girls did well staying confident and playing their game. Lily Temple and Ashley Farmer played number one doubles for the varsity team.

“It’s really exciting and I feel like it makes me play better. It makes me feel good when people come to support our tennis team,” Ashley Farmer, junior, said.

All the spectators were really involved and loved seeing the girls have some competitive matches.

“It was something I never really got to see before. It was really interesting to see everyone there excited for our tennis team,” Cayden Carr, senior, said.

All of the spectators and fans were allowed on the court to cheer loud for the broncos during this intense match, and everyone had a lot of fun being a part of this annual tournament.

“I wanted to go out and support other teams so when basketball season comes around it reciprocates and everyone gets involved with our basketball team,” Carr, said.

The Broncos have several upcoming matches and tournaments and would love for the support from fellow broncos to continue.
