Many clubs are offered to students at Lee’s Summit North, one being Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). FBLA is open to all LSN students and teaches students about leadership and business skills. Students who aspire to become leaders, and pursue careers in the business world take part in the club, and the experience.

“I want to be an accountant when I am older and pursue that career,” Ellie Armstrong, sophomore, said.

The information given in FBLA has taught students, including Armstrong, many things about the economy that apply to the real world.

“It has taught me how to manage my money and how to be a smart consumer in the world of economics,” Armstrong said.

FBLA holds competitions for the students to project their skills to other students from other schools. Armstrong looked forward to the competition and ended up placing.

“It was very cool to see all the schools and competition there,” Armstrong said.

As a first-year FBLA student, Armstrong has enjoyed the club so far, and the benefits she has taken away.

“I am hoping to take away all the informative information about accounting that Mr.Funk has taught me,” Armstrong said.

Future Business Leaders of America impacts the students who participate in the club by creating a better understanding of economics and providing them with information beneficial to their future.
