LSN Students Travel For The Summer

Here at Lee’s Summit North, students who take a foreign language have the option to go to the country of origin for three weeks of the summer. While they are there, they get to stay with a family called “hosts”.

“I’m most looking forward to meeting my host family because we have a lot in common, and I am excited to make friends,” Marissa Ruhlman, sophomore, said.

They have been preparing for this trip for a while, and lots of emotions are in the air. The students are finishing up tying loose ends and completing all final details, and then soon will be saying goodbye for a little while.

“Overall, I’m super excited but also really nervous because I know I will miss my friends and family, but at the same time, I get to make new friends and experience the lifestyle in a country I’ve always been fascinated in,” Ruhlman said.

The opportunity the students get is amazing and the opportunity of a lifetime. They are ready to leave and hope to make new memories that they can forever remember.
