Opportunities for Student Leaders at LSN

 As the school year comes to a close, preparations for the next one begin. LSN’s Student Council (STUCO) is opening up applications for the 2026-2027 school year. 

   STUCO is an organization that creates events and helps around the school to create fun opportunities for LSN students. STUCO members plan Homecoming events, volunteer in the school community, and volunteer in the Lee’s Summit community.

   Applications are currently open and can be found on the LSN website or on the QR codes on posters around the school. Requirements to apply for STUCO include a 2.5 GPA or higher, a couple of teacher recommendations, and completion of the application form. An interview with the STUCO sponsors and officers will also be required. Sign-up for interviews has been posted outside of Olivia Vella’s, English teacher and STUCO sponsor, room 2108. Then, please email your application to Vella or Theresa Carroll, STUCO sponsor. 

   Returning STUCO members will need to complete the returning member application, but will not need an interview. 

   There are also more opportunities with returning STUCO members. Upperclassmen have the opportunity to run for an officer position. An application form, a couple of teacher recommendations, and an interview will also be required. Once the next school year starts, returning STUCO members can apply for various committee chair roles, which come with more responsibilities.
