After the 2025 season, the Kansas City Royals are looking to redeem themselves as they look to achieve their postseason aspirations.
Most players claim that the 2025 season was disappointing and created a hard-working offseason to achieve their postseason goals. With star players returning like Salvador Perez, Boby Witt Jr, and Maikel Garcia, this star-studded line-up hopes to bring Kansas City back into postseason prominence.
The Royals have not made the playoffs since 2024, when they advanced all the way to the American League Division Series (ALDS) and lost against the New York Yankees.
The Royals are striving to achieve their postseason goals in 2026 by using the 2025 season as a learning experience. They are taking in the new opportunities of the 2026 season with a new set of games to work towards their goals.
Several Royals players have competed in the pre-season World Baseball Classic, which has the players representing the country they are from. This has gotten many Royals fans excited about the new season, as Kansas City’s star players showed off their talents on a global stage.
MLB has also introduced Automatic Balls & Strikes (ABS) for the 2026 season, which allows the catcher or pitcher to challenge an umpire’s call as well as the hitter at bat. This is sure to bring in new challenges to the MLB season, as in previous years, there have never been challenges allowed to change balls and strikes to respect the umpire’s ruling.
This season is sure to bring new challenges to the Royals and baseball as a whole, but the Royals are looking forward to taking advantage of the new season and several new opportunities.
