This year LSN added a new counselor to its family. Dana Green has been helping students for about sixteen years now. Starting in post-secondary working with college student-athletes, and moving her way to crisis counseling for high school students in Oklahoma. Prior to coming to North, Green counseled students in 6th – 12th grade.

“ I feel like it was something I just fell into. I’ve always been an athlete, and I’ve always been a struggling academic student, I was always that way growing up so when I finished college I decided that I wanted to go back and reach back and try to help students,” Green said.

Atop of her love for helping students, Green has two sons, Kayden and Caleb, along with her dog Luke. She also enjoys her hobby of cutting men’s hair.

“ I have the opportunity to sit down and have one on one and talk about goals, plans, and the future, to be able to sit down with these young adults and learn from them and help them navigate their way to their next chapter in life, it is very rewarding,” Green said.

As she adjusts to her role, with the help of her team and the warm welcome of the school.

“It’s the best decision I’ve made by far,” Green said.

As the school expands and Green becomes a part of that evolution, there’s a bright future for LSN.
